Garrett Yorke’s debut self-titled EP is a masterful homage to the golden age of classic singer-songwriters, steeped in the rich traditions of Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark and John Prine. This original EP was released on 16th August, 2024. With minimalist production and an emphasis on storytelling, Yorke delivers a collection of tracks that embrace the power of simplicity and sincerity, creating a timeless, warm atmosphere that resonates with listeners.

While single track , "Winter Home", immediately sets the tone like a comforting cup of coffee on a cold winter morning, there are other tracks like "Blue Bird", "Hear You", "Instrumental" as well as "Out Of Time" and "Houston", that make listeners feel very warmth and relaxed. The delicate interplay between piano and pedal steel summoned a familiar, yet fortifying fusion which draws listeners into w world of classic folk. The addition of the organ adds a touch of modernization, making the old feel new.

With the track known as 'Out of Time', Yorke’s skilfulness glows through, as the song snakes between moderate and sleezy, with raw earthy vocals mixed with harmony. The track's rustic charm is amplified by the beer bottle slide and a final distorted harmonica that captures the EP's personal, lived-in essence.

This records were administered at New York City’s iconic Dubway Studios. Garrett Yorke carries the weight of its history with echoes of past greats like Beck, Steve Earle and Elvis Costello. Yorke’s style, motivated by Gram Parsons and Townes Van Zandt, channels a raw and authentic sound that is equal parts nostalgic and fresh. This EP is an outstanding introduction to an artist who skilfully unifies the old and new with heartfelt authenticity.
