Report's fourth EP, "Everything Life Throws", is an exploration of strength, loss and unity. The album, produced by Kingston upon Thames duo Hugo Allen and Joe Rogers, encapsulates a unique blend of rock music and complex harmonies. while pushing their sound into a more raw and realistic realm.

Opening with “Not Over,” the EP sets a contemplative tone. The duo's use of layered instrumentation and heartfelt lyrics reflects the duo's ability to honestly express life's struggles. Joe's ethereal keys complement Hugo's bold guitar riffs, creating a soundscape that feels intimate and expansive.

“Voices” follows, showcasing The Report’s harmonies with expressive lyrics and beautiful singing. The song calls for unity amidst hardship. This production, in collaboration with Chris Pepper at Saltwell Studios, strikes the perfect balance between polish and spontaneity. It adds to the emotional weight of the song.

The standout song "What You Don't Know" was born out of personal loss. Talk about strength and weakness. Hugo's mesmerizing vocal performance paired with Joe's textured piano work leave a lasting impression.

The EP was recorded in Hugo's home studio during lockdown. It is full of raw, unfiltered energy which reflect on the challenges faced. The influence of artists like REM and The Feeling is clear, but The Report adds his own unique sound, making "Everything Life Throws" a catchy and relatable song.

Another song is called "In This Together," which also showcases the duo's powerful work. This is not just an extended play, but it is a heartwarming report on the complexities of life wrapped in passion and hope. Published on November 29
